Egg-shaped chocolates and fast food restaurants advertising their annual fish sandwich specials again: Yup, Easter is right around the corner. If thoughts of giant bunny rabbits and dyeing eggs don’t  make your heart soar like they once did, think again. Easter doesn’t just have to be for the kids. Adults should be able to partake in the fun too. How, you ask? Just add alcohol to make your Easter traditions a little more adult-friendly.

Easter Brunch

No brunch is complete without cocktails and Easter brunch is no exception. There’s no shame in taking your Easter brunch to the latest chain to set up shop around the corner from your house, but you can take your Easter brunch game to the next level with one of these easy cocktails.

Spiked Sweet Tea. All you’ll need for this drink is sweet tea and vodka. When we said easy, we weren’t kidding. Choose from New Amsterdam, Tito’s, Svedka and more in the Brown Bag vodka aisle.

Mimosa Floats. Let’s take a brunch staple that you know and love and flip it on its sugary head. In the name of Easter, of course! Again, this drink is simple. Just grab your favorite champagne and add orange sherbet. Get your bubbly fix and toast to you, the Easter bunny, for hiding those eggs so good you can finish your whole glass before the kids return with their haul!

Adult Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt is an activity cherished by millions around the world and with good reason. Everyone loves a little friendly competition, especially one fueled by chocolate. We’ve got a crazy idea. What if, instead of hunting for candy…you got your friends to hunt for airplane bottles of alcohol?? You can get Fireball shooters for your whiskey-loving friends, Patrón for your tequila-loving friends, Smirnoff for your vodka-loving friends and if you really want to go all out you can add silver and gold eggs to your egg hunt. The lucky finders of these eggs can win half-bottles and full bottles, respectively.

Dyeing Eggs

While you can substitute a fundamental element of the Easter Egg Hunt to make it more adult-like, the same can’t be done for egg dyeing. It’s not like you can dip your eggs in alcohol to dye them. Or maybe you can…to each their own!

Although gg dyeing may not be an Easter tradition you’ve revisited since your youth, hear us out: Egg dyeing is the super-relaxing break you’ll need from the craziness of the rest of the day. Holidays are about celebrating with friends and family, but they’re also about finding those little pockets of solitude where you can catch up with yourself. Dyeing eggs is the perfect way to get lost in your own thoughts. Your designs can be as elaborate or as simple as you desire. Egg dyeing is like adult coloring books: cathartic, plain and simple. Be sure to have some bottles of wine on hand to make a real evening out of it!

Wines that pair perfectly with egg-dyeing & will go nicely with your feast:

– Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc

– Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling

– Vista Atlas Peak Red Blend

There you have it! This year, when it’s time to dust off your pastels for Easter Sunday, don’t fret over the traditions of old. Add a little bit of Easter booze to all your activities and your friends and family will thank you!
