The 3 B’s of September at Brown Bag

Football booze back at Brown Bag

The calendar starts on January 1, but as far as we’re concerned, it starts when the Chiefs play their first game of the year. Here’s what the Chiefs’ schedule looks like in September:

September 11 – Chiefs at the Cardinals

September 15 – Chiefs host the Chargers

September 25 – Chiefs at the Colts

We love the start of a football season, as it brings with it new beginnings: New TikTok snack recipes to try, new Chiefs gear to rock on Red Fridays, and most importantly of all… new drinks to make your lucky drink of the year. Because if you’re superstitious like us and we’re drinking  Boulevard Wheat when the Chiefs win their first game of the year, you better believe we’re drinking Boulevard Wheat during each game for the rest of the season. Here’s our recommendations for lucky drinks you won’t get tired of all season long:

Bud Light Aluminum Chiefs bottles (Chiefs, duh)

Boulevard Space Camper Red Spectra (red and yellow cans, another duh)

Slrrrp shots (Jello-like shots in football containers, major duh)

September POTM: Flying Embers Hard Kombucha & Cocktails

Our September product of the month is Flying Embers Hard Kombucha. For the uninitiated, kombucha is a type of tea that’s grown significantly in popularity over the past few years. It’s a black tea drink, fizzy and caffeinated, that people drink for its many health benefits. People say it’s helped them with losing weight, boost their immune systems and help with digestion. Hard kombucha is all the above, plus one signature ingredient: alcohol 😉 Our friends at Flying Embers have crafted five distinct, delicious flavors that we can’t stop raving about. We love them so much that we’ve started crafting our own cocktail concoctions. See below for our faves:

Flying Embers Hard Kombucha Flavors:

-Cherry Hibiscus Lime

-Grapefruit Thyme

-Orange Passion Mimosa

-Pineapple Chili

-Watermelon Basil

Flying Embers Hard Kombucha Cocktails:

Pineapple Chili Margarita:

Tequila

Triple Sec

Tajin rim

Cherry Hibiscus Coconut & Lime:

6oz CHL Kombucha

Splash of Malibu

3oz Pineapple Juice

2oz Gin

Bourbon Heritage Month

Football this and football that; everyone knows September means that football is back. But did you know that September is also National Bourbon Heritage Month? Why do we have a National Bourbon Heritage Month, you ask? September is National Bourbon Heritage Month because bourbon is often referred to as the “native spirit” of America, as it is whiskey that is culturally, economically and socially sourced in America. It is arguably the most American hard liquor there is (but don’t quote us on that) (we didn’t fact check this) (Google is your friend). Here’s what we’re drinking for Bourbon Heritage Month:

Wild Turkey Longbranch

Jefferson’s Reserve

Bulleit Bourbon

High West American Prairie
