This Father’s Day, give your dad the gift of booze
Good morning, Brown Baggers. Or afternoon or evening, depending on when you’re reading this. We can’t guarantee what time of day your eyes will find their way to the words you’re reading now, but what we can guarantee is if you’re reading this, it’s June. And June is for Dads. And as far as we know, it’s the only month of the year with a holiday just for them. We know you appreciate your dads year round, but sometimes they need a reminder. That’s what we’re here for. Because what’s a better way to show appreciation for your dad than booze? The answer to that question this year might be hand sanitizer and masks, but we just so happen to be selling those, too. (Seriously. And you can pick them up curbside without even leaving the comfort of your car. Just click here to see what Brown Bag Curbside Pickup is all about.)
The Gift of Local Beer
What’s your dad’s favorite beer? Blue Moon, Miller Lite Buschhhhhhhhhhh? Let’s be clear: These are great beers. We love Blue Moon. Miller Lite is delicious, and nothing is more satisfying than a can of Busch after spending a hot summer’s day mowing the lawn. But we are a local liquor store located in the heart of Olathe, Kansas, and we would be remiss if we didn’t shout out some of our favorite local brews. And we’d be doing your dads a great disservice.
If your dad doesn’t love the Dunkel by KC Bier Co., it’s because he’s never had one. Next time he’s sweating his ***** off while cleaning out the gutters, he could have a fridge full of Dunkels to motivate him to the finish line.
Unless your dad’s been living under a rock (we wouldn’t put it past dads to do this), he’s likely a fan of Boulevard Wheat and Boulevard Tank 7. But has he had the pleasure of trying Space Camper IPA? If he likes IPAs, he’ll love Space Camper. Unlike 99% of other beers in the world, Space Camper will bring him back to his glory days of playing Space Invaders and Galaga at the arcade.
The Gift of Recreating His Favorite Cigar Bar
Fact: Dads love cigar bars. Other fact: Dads don’t love leaving the house unless they absolutely have to. So next time your dad gets an itching to attend a cigar bar that he doesn’t want to scratch, you can turn your living room into his very own cigar bar. All you’ll need is whiskey or bourbon, a cigar or five, and to dim the lights until you can just barely make out the magazine in front of you.
If your dad is a bourbon man, get him Maker’s Mark Brown Bag Barrel Pick. It’s exclusive, and will make him feel elite while drinking it. Plus, it was hand-selected by the folks at his favorite local Olathe liquor store.
If your dad tends to order scotch at the cigar bar, we recommend Glenmorangie and Balvenie. Although they don’t have our name on the bottles, we’re still a fan. These scotches are about as scotch-y as you can get, and if your dad is a scotch man, chances are he probably already knows this.
But what is a makeshift cigar bar without cigars? Just a sad living room with the lights dimmed low. In case you didn’t know, Brown Bag Liquor has a fine cigar selection, arguably one of the finest of all liquor stores located at 1078 West Santa Fe Street, Suite B, Olathe, Kansas 66061. If you’re unsure of what your dad likes, you can’t go wrong with a Macundo Cigar. It’s one of our bestsellers, and dads love bestsellers. Just look at all the James Patterson novels on the bookshelf.
There you have it! With a little help from Brown Bag, your dad is sure to be appreciated this Father’s Day. For more hand sanitizer and masks, tips and weekly specials, be sure to like Brown Bag Liquor on Facebook and follow us on Instagram. Happy drinking, and stay safe and sane out there!
