Here’s what’s happening at Brown Bag Liquor in August

Back to school, back to school… freedom for parents will be here soon! Yes, it’s that time of year again, when the kids trade goggles and floaties for pencils and books. They might be mourning the loss of their summer, but not you… because you still have lots to look forward to: Drinking at bonfires, drinking at Chiefs and so much more. And for those of you who don’t know, National IPA Day is celebrated on August 4th each year –  but this year, we’re taking a page out of Drake’s book (when he turned his birthday into a lifestyle, we felt that) and turning National IPA Day into National IPA Month 🎉 We’re geniuses, we know. But please, hold your applause until the end of the blog.

For our National IPA Month festivities, we’re offering 6-packs of cans of New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Series IPAs for $9.49 and 12-packs of cans and bottles for $14.99.

But wait, what’s an IPA again?

Indian Pale Ales, or IPAs for short, are extra hoppy pale ales. American IPAs arrived on the scene in the 1980s and have evolved the category exponentially. There are nine types of IPAs, but the two most popular types are English IPAs and American IPAs. English IPAs are known for their herbal and spicy flavors, whereas American IPAs are fruitier (typically grapefruit-y, to be exact). Other IPA styles include Black IPAs, Belgian IPAs, Brown IPAs, Red IPAs, Rye IPAs, White IPAs, Double/Imperial IPAs and even Triple IPAs.

Let’s talk about Voodoo Ranger

Voodoo Ranger is brewed by New Belgium, which was founded in 1991 in Fort Collins, Colorado, and has an additional brewery in Asheville, North Carolina. According to New Belgium, the Voodoo Ranger is brewed with hop and malt varieties, and served with a side of sarcasm – in other words, music to our ears. The current Voodoo Ranger lineup consists of Voodoo Ranger IPA (IPA), Voodoo Ranger Imperial (Imperial IPA), Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze (Hazy IPA), Voodoo Ranger Juice Force (Hazy Imperial IPA) and Voodoo Ranger Agent 77 (Hazy IPA). If you’re looking for a stylish IPA that pushes the boundaries of what an IPA tastes like, you can’t go wrong with any of them. In fact, we recommend you collect them all this August. Trust us, it’s worth it.For new products, tips and weekly specials, be sure to like Brown Bag Liquor on Facebook and follow us on Instagram.
